The Hill

Vast landscapes, instinctive adventure

Beyond the shoreline, the landscape opens into rolling moorland, rugged hills and expansive Hebridean wilderness. Guided by the estate team and shaped by seasonality, experiences on the hill invite guests to explore the vast, rugged terrain.

From guided walks, sightseeing and pony picnics in remote locations to e-biking across the estate, days unfold naturally in the open air. Seasonal sporting experiences including red deer stalking, grouse, duck and woodcock shooting, can also be arranged for those looking to immerse themselves more deeply in the traditions of the land.

For beginners or those wishing to practice, clay traps and a rifle range also provide excellent hillside entertainment.

Whether active or unhurried, the hill offers space to roam, reflect and reconnect with nature at its wildest and most captivating.

Discover the Location

On the west coast of Lewis, between land and sea.

Remote yet entirely self-contained, the estate is surrounded by land and water, with the Atlantic close at hand. It is a landscape that feels expansive, elemental and quietly powerful – shaped as much by light and weather as by time itself.

While the estate feels wonderfully secluded, SCALISCRO is easily accessible. It can be reached by car, boat, private jet, plane or helicopter and is only a 40-minute drive from Stornoway airport.
