SCALISCRO Estate
A PRIVATE WORLD ON THE ISLE OF LEWIS
Remote, self-sufficient and deeply connected to the landscape around it
Set across more than 10,000 acres on the remote west coast of the Isle of Lewis, SCALISCRO Estate is a rare private Hebridean landscape shaped by Atlantic weather, dramatic coastlines and extraordinary natural beauty.
Surrounded by sea lochs, moorland and mountains, the estate offers complete seclusion alongside unforgettable experiences both on land and water.
What was once a historic sheep farm has evolved into a place of gathering, exploration and retreat – where rugged wilderness, thoughtful hospitality and contemporary comfort exist effortlessly alongside one another.
Off-grid and entirely self-sufficient, the estate offers rare freedom to experience the landscape at your own pace. From remote coastline and open moorland to quieter moments within the lodge itself, life at SCALISCRO unfolds with a sense of calm, space and connection that feels increasingly rare.
A LONG-TERM COMMITMENT TO THE LAND
Preserving, restoring and giving back to the landscape
SCALISCRO is fully self-sufficient, drawing energy from carefully integrated solar, hydro and battery storage systems that work quietly within the landscape. This approach allows the estate to remain deeply connected to the natural environment that surrounds it, while preserving the sense of wildness and remoteness that defines the experience here.
Across the estate, a broader commitment to stewardship continues to shape the land itself. Ancient peatlands are being carefully restored, helping to capture carbon, improve water quality and protect fragile ecosystems that have existed here for generations. Alongside this, new native woodland is gradually taking root across the estate, expanding habitat, shelter and biodiversity throughout the landscape.
Together, these efforts reflect a long-term vision for SCALISCRO – one that not only protects the character of the estate, but allows it to become richer, wilder and more resilient over time.
